This film is not based on true events, but actuall event about the murder of women picked up along I-45 and being dumped in an old oil field in southeast Texas apparently has inspired the Texas Killing Fields movie. Before the movie is released, there was its novel on the market with the same title: The Texas Killing Fields.

At first, Danny Boyle was going to be the director of this movie, but he left and his position was replaced by Amy Mann, the daughter of director Michael Mann. Boyle once commented that the Texas Killing Fields movie is “so dark it would never get made.” Well, really interesting isn’t it?
